Healthy Living

Yummy and they contain a wide variety of vitamins and minerals…..hola AVOCADOS!
Some of the most abundant nutrients found in this incredible fruit are vitamin K, C, B5 & 6, E, folate, and potassium. Potassium helps to support healthy blood pressure levels and this fruit contains more of this nutrient than bananas!

Avocados are also a high fat food, 77% of its calories are from fat, “heart healthy” fat called oleic acid. Studies have shown that eating avocados can reduce total cholesterol levels significantly, reduce triglycerides by up to 20%, lower LDL cholesterol by up to 22%, and increase HDL cholesterol by up to 11%.

In addition, they are high in fiber which has various important benefits for weight loss and metabolic health.
As if this wasn’t enough, they can also help your body absorb nutrients from plant foods. So adding that avocado to your salad is not only delicious, but also increases the amount of antioxidants you take in from the lettuce and other veggies!
My favorite ways to enjoy them are literally the most simple: sliced with a dash of Himalayan pink salt; sliced and rolled in Boars Head deli chicken; and diced over organic greens with cubed watermelon and topped with grilled or blackened salmon.

If you’re not already loving this incredible fruit, give it a try, say hola avocados! 😉
